This course gives a gentle introduction to computer programming in Python with the aim to develop skill-sets necessary for analyzing and processing genetic sequences and databases. This course has no pre-requisites, and is suited for both BS and MS students.

In the course, students learn the factors they should consider while designing experiments to answer some research question. The course teaches also how to choose an appropriate statistical test for a study, perform it in R, and then infer reliable conclusions from the results of statistical analysis.

The course assumes zero background knowledge in Mathematics and is suitable for budding students with Medical background.

In this course, students learn the basic and advanced concepts in Python programming with the sole aim that they can design some real-world application at the end of the course. Not only that, students learn how to host their application's source code on GitHub, how to create installers of their application for various operating systems, and how to share their application effectively with the world using a dedicated project website of their own.
